Dynamic Restaurants Quality Mapping Using Online User Reviews

Millions of users post comments to TripAdvisor daily, together with a numeric evaluation their experience using rating scale between 1 and 5 stars. At the same time, inspectors dispatched by national local authorities visit restaurant premises regularly audit hygiene standards, safe food practices, overall cleanliness. The purpose our study is analyze use online-generated reviews (OGRs) as tool complement official inspection procedures. Our case study-based approach, help Python-based scraping library, consists collecting OGR data from comparing them extant restaurants’ health reports. findings reveal that correlation does exist OGRs system scorings. In other words, were found provide valid indicators quality based on ratings can thus contribute prevention foodborne illness among citizens in real time. originality paper resides big social network an easily accessible, zero-cost, complementary disease systems.
